The Hoatzin - also called the stinkbird or Canje Pheasant - is tropical bird native to the swamps, forests and mangroves of the Amazon and Orinoco Delta in South America. It is the only extant member of the family Opisthocomidae. It is about 26 inches long (65 cm) not including a long head and neck. It is a very vocal bird, with a variety of hoarse calls, including groans, croaks, hisses and grunts. These calls are often associated with body movements, such as wing spreading. The Jaguar ranges from the southwestern United States to Argentina. It is the only member of the Panthera genus native to the Americas. This large predatory feline live in a variety of habitats, from dense jungle and scrubland to shoreline forests. The Jaguar is one of the smaller big cats, measuring about 27 - 30 inches (68 -76 cm) from the ground to their shoulders, a body length of somewhere between 3.5 - 6.25 feet (1.1 - 1.9 m) weighing about 190 -300 pounds (57-113 kg) with the females being somewhat smaller. Jaguars are revered in many indigenous American cultures. The Maya believed that the Jaguar helped the sun to travel under the earth at night, ensuring its new rising every morning. The Jaguarundi - also called the Eyra Cat - is a smaller-sized member of the feline family native to a variety of habitats from Mexico, through much of Central America and most of South America. It can be found in rainforest, lowland brush areas and grasslands, usually not far from running water. In generally the cat has a total length (not including tail) of 21-30 inches (53 to 77 cm) with a tail of about 12 to 24 inches (31 to 60 cm) An adult Jaguarundi usually weighs in at about 7.7 to 20 punds (3.5 to 9.1 kg.) They are not usually much larger than a house cat. The cat's coat can be either a red-orange or charcoal gray - these were once thought to represent two different species, but it is now considered to be one. Despite habitat loss and hunting, these cats are not considered endangered and in fact there is some belief that the animal is expanding it's range further into North America. The King Vulture is a large South and Central American bird of the New World family Cathartidae. This vulture lives primarily in tropical lowland forests ranging from southern Mexico to Argentina. It is the only living member of the genus Sarcoramphus - all others are extinct and we know of them only from the fossil record. Like all vultures this bird feeds on carrion. But unlike some other vultures it has not been known to kill sick or dying animals for food. Information about the Kinkajou:

The Kinkajou - also called the "Honey Bear (a common name it shares with the Sun Bear of Malaysia) if found in the tropical rainforests from Central America to Bolivia east of the Andes and the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil. It is the only member of the genus Potos. When fully grown the Kinkajou weighs 3–10 pounds (1.4–4.6 kg.) with of a length 16–24 inches (40–60 cm) along with the tail length the animal is another 16–24 inches long (40–60 cm.) The kinkajou's slender five-inch tongue helps to obtain fruit and to lick nectar from flowers, so that it sometimes acts as a pollinator. (Nectar is also sometimes obtained by eating entire flowers.) Although captive specimens will avidly eat honey (hence the name "honey bear"), honey has not yet been observed in the diet of wild kinkajous. While the Kinkajou is not considered endangered, it is threatened by habitat loss and deforestation.
