Trioceros melleri
Meller’s Chameleon – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Meller's Chameleon:
The Meller's Chameleon also called the Giant One-horned Chameleon is the largest species of chameleon from the African mainland (as in chameleons not native to the island nation of Madagascar.) The name "Meller's" comes from a Doctor Meller's mentioned by naturalist John Gray in describing the species in 1865. The Meller's Chameleon can reach lengths of 24 inches (61 cm.) The females are usually slightly smaller than the males. Like other chameleons, Meller's Chameleon is a carnivore, feeding on small lizards, insects and other invertebrates. They are sometimes kept as pets, although seem to not do as well in captivity as some of the other chameleon species. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
