The Waxy Monkey Tree Frog - also called the Painted Belly Leaf Frog - is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It has completely adapted to life in the trees, and lays its eggs in a leaf, which it then fold in half to protect them. When the young are born, they drop from the leaf into the water. The males are about 2-3 inches long and the female about 25% larger. These amphibians do very well in captivity and are often kept as pets and displayed in zoos.
