The Boreal Chorus Frog is a member of the family of Hylidae - which are considered to be "true frogs." These small amphibians usually reach a length of a little less than 2 inches (30 millmeters.) The Large Milkweed Bug (sometimes called a Milkweed Beetle - however it is not technically a beetle) It is a member of the Hemiptera order or "True Bugs." This insect grows to about 3.5 - 7 inches long (9-18 centimeters) This insect feeds mainly on grains, which it consumes though the large mouthpart called a rostrum. They are native to much of the eastern parts of north American from the Rocky Mountains, north to Ontario but is especially concentrated in the southeastern parts of the US. As the name makes clear, this bug is closely associated with the milkweed plant on which it feeds and is often found. These insects are often used in scientific research as they breed easily in captivity. The Spotted Salamander is a mole salamander common to areas of the eastern US and Canada. It's a medium sized amphibians about 6.5-8 inches long. The habitat for these animals is in hardwood forests near ponds or other sources of still or slow moving water, which they need in order to breed. Except when laying eggs the Spotted Salamander spends most of it's time below ground or hidden in moist areas such as the undersides of rocks or in rotting trees. They are carnivores and feed on worms, spiders, slugs, millipedes and other insects.
