It is most easily distinguished from other tapirs by its thick woolly coat and white lips. Muskellunge – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Muskellunge:
The Muskellunge or Muskie is a large predatory freshwater fish native to the lakes and large rivers of North America. It is the largest member of the pike family. Generally these fish grow to be between 28-48 inches (.71-1.2 meters) weighing in the area of 5-36 pounds (2.3-16 kilograms) They can grow to be much larger - over 6 feet (2 meters) long weighing 70 pounds (32 kilograms.) They are the top predator in the lake, and feed on nearly all animals that might be around; crayfish, frogs, fish, ducklings, snakes, mice, muskrats and other rodents. These freshwater monsters are so bold they will sometimes attack humans in shallow water. They are also highly prized by fishermen and women. Unfortunately, because of their low productive rate they have become very scarce in much of their former range. Anglers are encouraged to "catch and release" when they hook a Muskie. Muskrat – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Muskrat:
The Muskrat is the only species in the genus Ondatra. It is a medium-sized semi-aquatic rodent native to the the swamps, bogs and other wetland areas. Like the American Beaver, it too has an effect on the ecology of the areas in which it lives. Despite the name, it is not a "true rat" but rather a relative. It is more closely related to lemmings and voles. Adult Muskrat grow to be about 16–28 inches long (40–70 cm) - almost half of that tail and weighing roughly 1.3–4.4 pounds (0.6–2 kg.) These small mammals are often found in the habitat as beavers, and they also have many of the same behaviors, such as felling trees by chewing through them and building dens. The Muskrat is an especially adaptable animal, and will often exploit areas altered by humans (canals, drainage ditches) to make homes. While they are only native to parts of North America, they have been introduced into much of the entire continent and Europe and have established themselves in these areas. Narwhal Whale – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Narwhal Whale:
The Narwhal - or Narwhale - is a marine mammal native to the freezing waters of the Arctic. Is it a toothed whale and one of two species of the Monodontidae family (the other being the Beluga Whale . They are most noted for their characteristic "horn" which is really an overgrown tusk that grown out of a hole in the animal's upper lip. Biologists have pondered for years why the Narwhal has this tusk, as it seems to serve no purpose. The Narwhale spends much of it's time under pack ice, diving to depths of about 4500 feet or 1500 meters. They are an important food source for the native peoples of the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. While the extreme remoteness of their habitat keeps their populations mostly stable, climate change is having an effect on these whale as the ocean's waters warm up and the dense pack ice retreats further north each year.
