The Ornate Chorus Frog is a small (1-1 7/16" or 2.5-3.7 cm) arboreal amphibian native to the southern coastal plains, cypress ponds, flooded meadows and flatwood ditches of North Carolina to eastern Louisiana and south throughout much of northern Florida. They are members of the Family Hylidae, which encompasses a wide-ranging species of frogs, including many other treefrogs. These small, colorful amphibians feed primarily on small insects and other invertebrates. They are mostly nocturnal and are rarely seen during the day. Their shrill mating call is reminiscent of an insect. Information about the Parachuting Red-Eyed Leaf Frog:
The Parachuting Red-Eyed Leaf Frog - also called the Misfit Frog - is a smaller frog, with adult males ranging from 34 to 54 mm and the larger females ranging from 57 to 66 mm. They are found in the tropical and subtropical rainforests of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. This frog is identified by its dramatic red eyes with vertical pupils, and its orange hands and feet. They have extensive webbing between the fingers and toes and large suction disks at end of each digit. Other than the size difference between the males and females, males develop a dark or black patch on the inside of the base of the thumb during mating season. This species closely resembles Agalychnis callidryas (red-eyed leaf frog) but with some differences. It has a uniform dark blue or purple flanks instead of vertical white, yellow, or cream bars found in the red-eyed leaf frog. Another difference is that Agalychnis saltator changes its color from uniform leaf-green during the day to tan or brown during the night, while the red-eyed leaf frog just change their hue.The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

The Patch-Nosed Salamander is a lungless salamander native to the streams of Georgia and South Carolina. It is the only extant member of the genus Urspelerpes. They are very small - only about 2 inches long (5cm). The name comes from the yellow patch found on the nose. Generally males are more colorful than the females. Its known range is small, having been identified in only a few counties in the USA. The name Urspelerpes means "archaic" (ur) and "cave creeper" (spelerpes) in Greek. The binominal name "brucei" honors Richard Bruce, who is a professor at Western Carolina University. The Pickerel Frog is sometimes confused with the Leopard Frog, but the Pickerel's spots are generally larger, and in two rows on their backs whereas the Leopard's are more scattered and irregular. These frogs are carnivores feeding on insects and other invertebrates. The Pickerel Frog is believed to have a poison that can kill other frogs, but is harmless to humans. The Pickerel Frog will protect itself from potential predators by giving off a poisonous chemical. The Pig Frog - also sometimes called the Lagoon Frog or Southern Bullfrog - is an aquatic amphibian found on the edges of lakes, swamps and marshes. It is a member of the family Ranidae or "true frogs." They get their name from their distinctive pointed and pig like nose, along with the distinctive call which sounds like the grunt of a pig. These amphibians are common around the edges of water, in lakes, ponds and ditches, or floating in shallow water. They are mostly active at night. They feed on nearly anything they can swallow such as invertebrates, crustaceans, fish and amphibians. Despite the overall decline of many of the world's amphibians, the Pig Frog's numbers seem fairly stable and they're common in their range. The legs of these frogs are considered delicacies to some, and they are often hunted at night using flashlights and lanterns. The Pine Barrens Tree Frog is a one of the smaller species of the New World tree frogs, usually measuring only about 1-3 inches long. This amphibian is usually found in brushy areas, near ponds or in peat bogs or marshes. Compared to the more widespread Green Tree Frog this has fairly limited distribution in the states of New Jersey, North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Pine Barrens tree frog feed on small invertebrates such as flies, slugs, moths, snails, beetles and butterflies. Due to habitat loss, usually the draining of ponds and swamps that the frog needs to breed, only three main concentrations of the Pine Barrens Tree Frog remain in the wild, the largest of which is in the state of New Jersey.
