The Common Yellowthroat is a member of the Parulidae family, which are New World Warblers. It is a small skulking warbler native to much of North America from the Yukon to Newfoundland, and from southern Florida to southern Mexico. While it's overall numbers are in decline, it is still a very common bird (although it is more frequently heard rather than seen, with it's distinctive "wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty" song. The Common Yellowthroat is found in many different habitats, such as forests with damp brushy area, grassy areas along country roads or in agricultural lands, marshy areas with willows near streams, swamps, and lakes. During the breeding season, the male will perform a special flight song, rising high into the air while singing. Researchers have noted that the males with the larger masks tend to be more successful in attracting a mate. They feed on insects and fruits. Due to ongoing habitat loss, small population size, and hunting pressure in some areas, the Congo peafowl is evaluated as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of threatened species. As of 2013 their population in the wild was estimated to be between 2,500 and 9,000 individual adults. It is the national bird of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa. The Cooper's Hawk is a medium sized predatory bird of prey of the Accipiter genus. They are also known as a "Chicken Hawk." They're native to the North American continent and quite common in urban areas, where they feed on small songbirds, rodents and other small mammals. They are named for the naturalist William Cooper, who was one of the founders of the New York Academy of Sciences. This bird was greatly threatened by the use of DDT in the 70's as well as the mistaken belief they posed a considerable threat preying on commercial poultry, their numbers have rebounded and they are no longer considered threatened. The Costa's Hummingbird is a small species of hummingbird - an adult grows only to about 3.5 inches (7.6–8.9 cm) long. The male Costa's Hummingbird's most distinguishing feature is its vibrant purple cap and throat. Females are much less colorful than the males. The Costa's Hummingbird is native to the arid, brushy deserts and any nearby gardens of the Southwestern United States and the Baja California Peninsula of Mexico. Like other species of hummingbird the Costa's feeds on flower nectar and any tiny insects that it happens to find in the flower petals. The name is a tribute to the French nobleman Louis Marie Pantaleon Costa, Marquis de Beauregard (1806–1864).
