Egyptian Vulture – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Egyptian Vulture:
The Egyptian Vulture - also called the White Scavenger Vulture or Pharaoh's Chicken - is a small Old World Vulture. It's the only member of the genus Neophron. It has a very large distribution from Southwestern Europe to Northern Africa and into India. Like other vultures, they are highly opportunistic feeders generally eating carrion along with other species of vultures. It will, however also hunt small mammals, reptiles and other birds. When eating bird eggs, it will employ tools to break the shell, such as small stones. This use of tools is very rare in the world of birds. The population of the species has declined considerably due to overhunting, accidental poisoning and collisions with power lines and is now considered endangered by the IUCN. The Elf Owl migrates to Arizona and New Mexico in the spring and summer. In the winter, it is found in central and southern Mexico. Migrant Elf Owls return north in mid-August or early May. They live in cacti much like other desert birds, using the shade and climate the tree provides. Information about the Emperor Penguin:
The Emperor Penguin is the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species. It is is endemic to Antarctica. Like all penguins, Emperor Penguins have a big head, a short, thick neck, a streamlined shape, a short, wedge-shaped tail, and tiny, flipper-like wings. They have webbed feet which they use for swimming.
