The Goliath Heron is a very large wading bird of the heron family Ardeidae. It is found in sub-Saharan Africa, with smaller numbers in Southwest and South Asia. This is the world's largest heron with a height of 47–60 inches (120–152 cm) with a wingspan of 73–91 inches (185–230 cm) weighing 8.8–11pounds (4–5 kg).The Goliath heron if rarely found far from a water source, preferring to fly along waterways rather than move over land. Important habitats can include lakes, swamps, mangrove wetlands, reefs with few cool water, sometimes river deltas. It typically is found in shallows, though can be observed near deep water over dense water vegetation. Goliath herons can even be found in small watering holes. These birds of prey are on the smaller size 18–24 inches (46–61 centimeters) in length weighing about 16.8 ounces (475 grams) on average. The Gray Hawk is an effective hunter and will feed upon a variety of prey; lizards, snakes, small mammals, birds and amphibians. The Gray Jay is a medium-sized passerine bird native to the boreal forests of of North America, from the north to the tree-line and in subalpine forests of the Rocky Mountains south to New Mexico and Arizona. There are several subspecies of this jay scattered across their range. The bird tends to prefer forests with black and white spruce trees, as well as pine trees. Like other jays they are opportunistic feeders and will eat a variety of plant matter such as nuts, fruits and insects, but they will also raid the nests of other birds and eat eggs and fledglings. The Gray Jay will also exploit human activity such as camping and raid campsites stealing any food they find. The Gray-Crowned Crane is is a bird in the crane family Gruidae. It occurs in dry savannah in Africa south of the Sahara, although it nests in somewhat wetter habitats. There are two subspecies. These beautiful birds are about 3.3 feet tall (1 m) and weigh about 7.y pounds (3.5 kg) they have an average wingspan of 6.5 feet (2.2 m) They are omnivores, eating plants, seeds, grain, insects, frogs, worms, snakes, small fish and the eggs of aquatic animals.
