Crowned Sifaka Lemur – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Sifaka Lemur:

The Sifaka Lemur are a genus (Propithecus) of lemur from the family Indriidae within the order Primates. Like all lemurs, they are found only on the island of Madagascar. All species of sifakas are threatened, ranging from vulnerable to critically endangered. Sifakas are medium sized indrids with a head and body length of 16 to 22 inches (40 to 55 cm ) and weighing of 6.6 to 13 lb (3 to 6 kilograms). Their tail is just as long as their body, which differentiates them from the Indri. Their fur is long and silky, with coloration varying by species from yellowish-white to black brown. The round, hairless face is always black. Sifakas move by vertical clinging and leaping, meaning they maintain an upright position leaping from tree trunk to tree trunk and moving along branches. They are skillful climbers and powerful jumpers, able to make leaps of up to 10 m (32.8 ft) from one tree to the next. On the ground they move like all indrids with bipedal sideways hopping movements of the hind legs, holding their forelimbs up for balance. Sifakas are diurnal and arboreal. They are herbivores, eating leaves, flowers and fruits. When not searching for food they spend a good part of the day sun bathing, stretched on the branches. Sifakas live in larger groups than the other indrids (up to 13 animals). Even though they defend their territory from invasion by others of their species, they may peacefully co-exist with other lemur species such as Red-bellied Lemur and the Common Brown Lemur. The life expectancy of the sifakas is up to 18 years The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download

An adult Bongo's height is roughly 3.6 to 4.3 feet (1.1 to 1.3 meters) at the shoulder and they are 7.1 to 10.3 feet long (2.15 to 3.15 meters) The females weigh approximately 330–520 pounds (150–235 kilograms), and males are approximately 490–890 pounds (220–405 kilograms) These shy animals are mostly nocturnal, feeding on plants, bark, vines, roots and fruits. Due to habitat loss and illegal poaching their numbers have declined rapidly and are considered extremely rare and are critically endangered. $19.95$27.95

Information about the Fennec Fox:

The Fennec Fox is a small nocturnal canid native to the Saharan Desert in Northern Africa. They live in dens that are dug out from the sands of the desert. Generally, the Fennec Fox weighs about 1.5–3.5 pounds (0.68–1.59 kg), with a body length of between 9–16 inches (24–41 cm). It is the smallest species of canid on earth. They are excellent jumpers, and can leap several times it's own body length in one bound. They are sometimes kept as pets, although it is illegal to do so in several countries. Fossa – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Fossa:

The Fossa is a the largest carnivorous mammal native to the island nation of Madagascar. Its classification has been controversial because its physical traits resemble those of cats, yet other traits suggest a close relationship with some civets and their relatives. Adults have a head-body length of 28–31 in (70–80 cm) and weigh between 12 and 19 pounds (5.5 and 8.6 kg) Males are somewhat larger than the females. It has semi-retractable claws and flexible ankles that allow it to climb up and down trees head-first, and also support jumping from tree to tree. The species is widespread, although population densities are usually low. It is found solely in forested habitat, and actively hunts both by day and night. Over 50% of its diet consists of lemurs, the endemic primates found on the island; tenrecs, rodents, lizards, birds, and other animals are also documented as prey. The fossa is listed as "Vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Gelada Baboon – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Gelada Baboon:

The Gelada Baboon called the gelada baboon and bleeding-heart baboon, is a species of Old World monkey found only in the Ethiopian Highlands, with large populations in the Semien Mountains. Theropithecus is derived from the Greek root words for "beast-ape." Like its close relatives the baboons (genus Papio), it is largely terrestrial, spending much of its time foraging in grasslands. Geladas are found only in the high grassland of the deep gorges of the central Ethiopian plateau. They live in elevations 1,800–4,400 m above sea level, using the cliffs for sleeping and montane grasslands for foraging. These grasslands have widely spaced trees and also contain bushes and dense thickets. They display threats by flipping their upper lips back on their nostrils to display their teeth and gums, and by pulling back their scalps to display the pale eyelids.
