$19.95$27.95

Information about the Domestic Goat:

The domestic goat is descended from wild goats of Southeast Asia and Eastern parts of Europe. Goats are closely related to sheep and cows, all three belonging to the family of Bovidae. Since being domesticated, many different breeds have been established and there are now over 300 breeds. Goats are believed to first been domesticated about 10,000 years ago in what is now Iran. Goats are ruminants, which means they have a series of four chambers in the stomach to digest the plant matter they consume. Goats eyes are spread far apart on the head, but with their horizontally slitted eyes (which are believed to help with depth perception) they have excellent sight. They are of course excellent climbers, being descended from animals that evolved in rugged, mountainous terrain. Despite the popular belief, goats will not eat tin cans or cardboard boxes. In many areas of the world, in addition to being kept for their milk and meat, goats are used to clear grassy areas as a kind of biological lawnmowers. Great Dane – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Great Dane:

The Great Dane, also called the German Mastiff or Danish Hound, is a breed of domestic dog. It is a very well known dog breed, famous for it massive size. The current world record holder, measures 44 inches (112 cm) from paw to shoulder is named "Zeus". Great Danes were originally bred to hunt deer and wild boar. The Great Dane comes in a wide variety of colors - fawn, brindle, blue, black, harlequin and mantle. Despite it's large size, the Great Dane is gentle and friendly. They do not exhibit a large prey drive and usually show little or no aggression towards other dogs. The breed originated in Germany, although there were similar looking dogs in ancient Egypt. It is likely a cross between a Mastiff and an Irish Wolf Hound. A French naturalist named Compte de Buffon first saw these impressive dogs while traveling in Denmark in the early 1700's. The breed was labeled as "le Grande Denois" or Great Dane by the naturalist, although it has no specific connection to the country. For some reason, the name stuck - although only in English.
