It is the largest of the genus and a very popular and common aquarium fish. In the wild, this angelfish can be found in the Orinoco River Basin and the Upper Rio Negro watershed in Southern Venezuela, Southeastern Colombia and extreme Northern Brazil. It is not believed to occur anywhere else. Angelfish are ambush predators and feed on small fish and very small invertebrates. The Amazon River Dolphin is is a freshwater mammal native to the rivers and flooded rainforests of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. During the dry season, these dolphins live in the larger rivers in the rainforest, but during the rainy season the dolphins head into the flooded plains swimming among the submerged trees hunting for prey.
