Forster’s Tern – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

The Forster's Tern is a smaller member of the family Sternidae. It's about 13-14 inches long (33-36 cm) with a wingspan of 25-28 inches (64-70 cm.) It's closely resembled the Common Tern but has a gray center to it's white tail. The Forster's tern feeds by plunge-diving for fish, but will also hawk for insects in its breeding marshes. It usually feeds from saline environments in winter, like most Sterna terns. It normally dives directly, and not from the "stepped-hover" favored by the Arctic tern.
