Yellow-Footed Rock-Wallaby – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby:
The Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby - formerly called the Ringtailed Wallaby - is a member of the macropod family, which is the family or marsupial which includes kangaroos, wallabies, tree-kangaroos, and wallaroos. These animals are found in a very small area of New South Wales in Australia. As the name implies, this wallaby tends to favor rocky outcrops, usually as far from human habitation as possible. The discovery of this species was fairly recent, and was recorded for the first time in 1964. In 1979 the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife purchased 100 square kilometers of this land, which then became Coturaundee Nature Reserve. This areas is protected for the conservation and protection of the yellow-footed rock-wallaby. Part of the allocated fund were used to removed non-native species that have established themselves there, such as fox and goat.
