Information about the Flamboyant Cuttlefish:

The Flamboyant Cuttlefish - also called Pfeffer's Flamboyant Cuttlefish - is a species of cephalopod native to the warm tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific off northern Australia. Like other cuttlefish they are smart and formidable predators, feeding on fish, crabs and shrimp. They are closely elated to squid, octopus and the chambered nautilus. The cuttlefish's flat body allows it to live and hover near the ocean bottom where it finds its favorite food. An outer shell once covered the cuttlefish's body but has since evolved into a porous internal shell called a cuttlebone. The cuttlefish varies its buoyancy by varying the amount gas and liquid held in the holes of the shell. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
