Gigantopithecus – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Gigantopithecus:

Gigantopithecus are extinct mammals from the order Primates. They lived in various locations in India, China and Vietnam from about nine millions years until about one hundred thousand years ago. While the fossil record is somewhat incomplete, it is believed that these apes grew to be very large, up to 10 feet tall (3 meters) weighing in the area of 1,200 pounds (540 kilograms.) Their massive bulk makes them about three times the size of modern gorillas. While little is known about their diet, it is believed they were mostly plant eaters because of the teeth that have been found and the climate and plant life that existed at that time. While there is no direct evidence, some Bigfoot enthusiasts believe that Gigantopithecus might be animal behind the many reported encounters with a large, bipedal ape in North America. It is believed the Golden Retriever has it's origins in Scotland. The lifespan of these handsome dogs is about 11.5 years.

Golden Takin – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Golden Takin:

The Golden Takin is an endangered goat-antelope native to the Peoples Republic of China & Bhutan. Takins are adapted to staying warm and dry during winters in the Himalayan Mountain regions they inhabit. A thick, secondary coat is grown to keep out the cold. Their large, moose-like snout has large sinus cavities that warm up the air a takin inhales which prevents the loss of body heat by breathing. Although they have no skin glands, their skin secretes an oily substance that provides a water barrier that protects takins from the elements. They are around the same size as a cow and are very aggressive. Its skin is also said to be the source of the legend of the Golden Fleece. Great Dane – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Great Dane:

The Great Dane, also called the German Mastiff or Danish Hound, is a breed of domestic dog. It is a very well known dog breed, famous for it massive size. The current world record holder, measures 44 inches (112 cm) from paw to shoulder is named "Zeus". Great Danes were originally bred to hunt deer and wild boar. The Great Dane comes in a wide variety of colors - fawn, brindle, blue, black, harlequin and mantle. Despite it's large size, the Great Dane is gentle and friendly. They do not exhibit a large prey drive and usually show little or no aggression towards other dogs. The breed originated in Germany, although there were similar looking dogs in ancient Egypt. It is likely a cross between a Mastiff and an Irish Wolf Hound. A French naturalist named Compte de Buffon first saw these impressive dogs while traveling in Denmark in the early 1700's. The breed was labeled as "le Grande Denois" or Great Dane by the naturalist, although it has no specific connection to the country. For some reason, the name stuck - although only in English.
