Phacochoerus africanus
Common Warthog – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Warthog:
The Warthog or Common Warthog is a wild pig that lives in the savanna habitats of central and southern Africa. Warthogs range in size from three to 5 feet long (0.91 to 1.5 metres) and weighing about 110 to 170 pounds (50 to 75 kg). Phacochoerus africanus has four recoginzed subspecies, and is identifiable by the two pairs of pointed tusks protruding from the mouth, which are used as weapons against predators. Warthogs are omnivorous, and feed on a variety of grasses, roots, berries and other fruits, bark, fungi, eggs and even carrion. The large tusks made from ivory sometimes result in the poaching of these animals, although at this time they are not considered threatened and their numbers are stable. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
