Information about the Desert Box Turtle:
The Desert Box Turtle is a member of the family Emydidae, which are the pond turtles or marsh turtles, or box turtles. This small reptiles is native to arid and semi-arid regions from the Trans-Pecos area of Texas, New Mexico, and southeastern Arizona in the United States and south into Sonora and Chihuahua in Mexico. The Desert Box Turtle is omnivorous and will feed on vegetation, insects and even carrion if it's able to find it. The turtle will also root around in cow dung looking for beetles to feed on. This box turtle, like all of the related species are highly prized as pets and are often collected and kept in captivity. However, since 2005 it was declared a protected species in Arizona and can no longer be collected.The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
