European Starling – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the European Starling:

The European Starling - also called the Common Starling or simply Starling - is a member of the order of Passeriformes or songbirds or, more accurately perching birds. There are many subspecies of the Starling, scattered across much of the Northern Hemisphere. They are a highly adaptable species and have been introduced - usually unintentionally - in many areas they are not native to. This has resulted in the steep decline of native species who cannot compete with the aggressive bird that reproduces at such a high rate. These birds can live in many different environments, and are omnivorous and feed on various types of invertebrates such as caterpillars, moths, cicadas and spiders. They will also feed plant matter like seeds, fruits, grains and nectars. European Tree Frog Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the European Tree Frog:

As the name implies, this is a small tree frog native to mainland Europe. The tree frogs generally don't live in forests, but rather they prefer forest edges, dunes, wet scrubland and meadows and parks with ponds rich in submerged vegetation. Historically, tree frogs were used as barometers because they croak as rain approaches.

Eyelash Pit Viper – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Eyelash Pit Viper:

The Eyelash Pit Viper is a venomous pit viper species found in Central and South America. Small and arboreal, these snakes are characterized by their wide array of color variations, as well as the scales over the eyes - which resemble eyelashes. The eyelashes are thought to aid in camouflage, breaking up the snake's outline among the foliage where it hides. This is a relatively small species that rarely exceeds 30 inches (75 centimeters) long. Females are generally larger than males. The name "pit viper" comes from the pits which are located on either side of the head. These snakes exhibit a wide range of colors, including red, yellow, brown, green and even pink. These snakes are venomous and will bite humans if provoked. They live in tropical rain forests lowlands from southern Mexico (northern Chiapas), southeastward on the Atlantic plains and lowlands through Central America to northern South America in Colombia and Venezuela, and in parts of Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The snake normally prefers lower altitude, humid, tropical areas with dense foliage, generally not far from a permanent water source. Having a strongly prehensile tail the snake is almost always found in the trees or rainforest canopy. It is largely nocturnal, consuming small rodents, frogs, lizards and small birds. A typical ambush predator, it waits patiently for unsuspecting prey to come along. The snake is named for the German ornithologist, Hermann Schlegel.
