Information about the American Pika:
The American Pika is native to the mountains of the western United States and Canada, usually living in large boulder fields at or above the tree line. They are about 6-8 inches long (162 to 216 millimeters) and generally weigh about 6 ounces (170 grams.) Despite looking similar to a mouse, it is more closely related to hares and rabbits. They are herbivores, feeding on a variety of grasses, thistles and sedges. Pikas are active during the day, calling out from the tops of boulders or gathering food. They are the prey for a variety of different animals, so they are extremely cautious, turning tail into their burrows in the rock crevices at the first sign of danger. Due to climate change, pikas are good environmental indicators of the warming planet. Unfortunately, as the earth gets hotter the environments the pika needs to survive is disappearing.

The Chestnut-Backed Chickadee is a small passerine bird native to the low elevation coniferous and mixed coniferous/deciduous forests. It is also commonly seen in backyards at birdfeeders. They are small - even for a chickadee - only 4.5–4.9 inches long (11.5–12.5 cm) weighing about 0.30–0.44 ounces (8.5–12.6 g.) They will eat insects and other small invertebrates found in the foliage, as well as seeds, fruits and will readily eat food offered at birdfeeders, and are especially drawn to suet. The Desert Blister Beetle is a species of blister beetle found in southwestern North America. Typically 16 to 33 mm (0.6 to 1.3 in) in length, L. magister has a striking red head, legs and prothorax, with black elytra. They can be found in great numbers in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts in spring, and are often seen in swarms. Females lay eggs in holes in the desert soil. The larvae are insectivorous, mainly attacking bee nests. They consume the immature host along with its provisions, and can often survive on the provisions alone, thus they are not obligatory parasitoids but rather food parasites that are parasitoid, or simply predatory. Adults feed on flowers and leaves of brittlebush.
