The Minke Whale - as called the Lesser Rorqual - is a marine mammal of the order Cetacea. It is often classified as two species - the Common Minke Whale and the Antarctic Minke Whale. It is the second smallest of the baleen whales (only the aptly named Pygmy Whale is smaller) Minke Whales grow to be about 23-35 feet long with the males a being little longer. Adults will generally weigh 3-5 tons. These cetaceans are widely distributed throughout the world's oceans, and can be found from the poles to the tropics. The Spinner or Long-snouted Dolphin is a small Cetacean found in offshore deep tropical seas around the world, where they feed on small fish, squid and shrimp. As the name implies, they are known for their out of the water acrobatics, which can involve leaps with many rotations and splashing loudly back into the water. They are very gregarious and travel in large pods of as many as 100 and in rare occasions up to 1,000. They're often seen in groups with other species of dolphins or even tuna.
