Information about the Siberian Tiger:

The Siberian Tiger, also called the Amur, Altaic, Korean, North Chinese or Ussuri tiger, is a rare and critically endangered subspecies of tiger. Almost all wild Siberian tigers live the Amur region in the Southeast corner of Russia. They are the largest of the tiger species and can grow up to 13 feet in length and weigh up to 700 lbs. The Siberian tiger preys primarily on wild boar and red deer, which make up 65-90% of its diet. These tigers are hunted for meat, their skins and their bones which are used in traditional Asian medicines, despite the fact that there is no scientific benefit from the tiger when used this way.

The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Fine art illustration of a Siberian or Amur Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.

Artist’s notes:

The Siberian Tiger might be the most beautiful of the ‘big cats.’ There are about 5-8 subspecies of Panthera tigris living today, and I’ve love to illustrate them all (Bengal and Sumatran are already complete. The silent power of the gaze of this tiger is simply mesmerizing. The drawing is based on a photo by Flickr member Zayeeem
