The Margay is a smaller member of the feline family. It is native to southern North America, down through much of Central America and most of South America. Like many other species of cat, the Margay is a solitary hunter. It prefers remote sections of very dense tropical and subtropical rainforests and cloudforests. It looks similar to the Ocelot, but the head is a little smaller with longer legs and tail. The cat weighs from 5.7 to 8.8 pounds (2.6 to 4 kilograms), with a body length of 19 to 31 inches (48 to 79 centimeters), and a tail length of 13 to 20 in (33 to 51 centimeters.)
