Domestic Duck – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Domestic Duck:

Domestic Ducks are descendants of common Mallards that have been bred to serve humans for eggs, meat and down from their feathers. Because they are closely related to the Mallard, they will sometime interbreed creating domestic/wild hybrid ducks. Ducks have been domesticated for thousands of years, probably beginning in Asia. They are less popular than chickens, because the duck has less white lean meat than a chicken and are more difficult to keep in a confined area. While most domestic ducks provide the farmer with various uses, they are also occasionally kept as pets. They are also commonly seen at county fairs competing against one another for ribbons. Bantam Chicken – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Bantam Chicken:

Chickens are domesticated fowl, likely descended from the Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus) They are one of the most widespread domestic animals in the world, with a total population estimated to be over 24 billion birds. They are kept and bred by humans mostly for food - both the chicken itself and the eggs they lay. In some areas, the animals are compelled to fight one another for the purposes of gambling. Evidence suggest that as far back as the 18th dynasty in Egypt (c. 1550-c. 1292 BCE) chickens were kept for these uses. Chickens are omnivorous, and will continually scratch at the dirt looking for insects, vegetable matter or will even eat small lizards or mice if they're able to catch them. While they are considered flightless, chickens can get airborne for short distances.
