Malayan Tapir – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Malayan Tapir:

The Malayan Tapir - also called the Asian Tapir - is the largest of the four extant species of Tapir. The Tapirs habitat is the tropical lowland rainforests of Southeast Asia. Their diet includes grasses, aquatic plants, leaves, soft twigs and fruits of low-growing shrubs, which it tugs with its nostrils that it uses like fingers . Like many other animals of the rainforest, their numbers are in decline due to habitat loss and poaching. Despite protection and attempts to stem hunting, the Malayan Tapir conservation status is considered endangered and it's future is uncertain.

Malayan Tiger – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Malayan Tiger:

The Malayan Tiger is a subspecies of tiger native to the dense forested areas of the Malay Peninsula. It was not classified as a subspecies until 2004. There are thought to be only about 600-800 of these large cats in the wild, and few in captivity. While these numbers may seem small, it is the most abundant tiger in the wild, second only to the Bengal Tiger and perhaps the Indo-Chinese tiger. This tiger, along with the Sumatran Tiger, is perhaps the smallest of the subspecies, with adult males weighing about 260 pounds (120 kg) and the females being slightly smaller. Malayan Tigers are apex predators - which means they are at the top of the food chain and are not preyed upon by other animals. They feed on the more common rainforest animals such as wild boar, tapir, barking deer, and even sun bear cubs and elephant calves. The scientific name of the tiger has created some controversy, as it was originally named after tiger specialist Peter Jackson, but Malaysia protested this demanding the name should reflect the geographical region instead. So, in that nation the scientific name is Panthera tigris malayensis

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Mandrill:

Mandrill is a primate of the Old World monkey family, closely related to the baboons and even more closely to the drill. It is found in southern Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Congo. Mandrills mostly live in tropical rainforests and forest-savanna mosaics. They live in groups called hordes. Mandrills have an omnivorous diet consisting mostly of fruits and insects. Their mating season takes place from June to October. The mandrill is classified as vulnerable by IUCN. It is the largest monkey on the planet.
