Grand Cayman Blue Iguana – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana:

The Grand Cayman Blue Iguana is a large endangered species of reptile native to the island of Grand Cayman in the Caribbean. They are partial to the rocky, sunny open areas of dry forests, usually not far from the shoreline. Like other iguana, the Blue Iguana is mostly herbivorous, eating leaves, flowers, and fruits. The reptile is of special interest to conservation groups as just a few years ago the native, unmanaged population had dwindled to only 5-15 individuals. It was predicted that the animal would go extinct in the first part of the century. But thanks to aggressive conservation efforts as of 2007 there were almost 300 wild iguanas living in the wild, with most of them of them living on a reserve and botanical garden. These are very long-lived reptiles, living to be several decades old.
