Bargibant’s Seahorse – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Pygmy Seahorse:

The Pygmy Seahorse is a also known as Bargibanti's is a fish of the family Syngnathidae found in the western central Pacific Ocean. It is one of the smallest seahorses in the world, generally less than an inch long (2 centimeters) It lives exclusively on sea fan corals. Because of its camouflage, the species wasn't discovered until its host gorgonian was being examined in a laboratory. Scientists believe other, similar, species remain to be found. The Pygmy Seahorse is found in coastal areas ranging from southern Japan and Indonesia to northern Australia and New Caledonia on reefs and slopes at a depth of 16-130 feet (5–40 meters). Large, bulbous tubercles cover its body and match the color and shape of the polyps of its host species of gorgonian coral, while its body matches the gorgonian stem. It is not known whether individuals can change color if they change hosts.

Bat Star – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Bat Star

The Bat star is a member of the family Asteroidea. They are also called the Sea bat, Webbed star, Bat Man and Broad-disk star. This ocean animal is an echinoderm (commonly known as sea stars). It usually has five arms, with the center disk of the animal being much wider than the stubby arms are in length. Bat stars come in many different colors, such as green, purple, red, orange, yellow and brown, either mottled or solid. The bat star gets its name from the webbing between its arms, which is said to resemble a bat's wings. The bat star is usually found in the intertidal zone at an average depth of 260 feet (79 meters). Its range extends from Sitka, Alaska to Baja California in the Pacific Ocean. It is most abundant along the coast of Central California and the Monterey Bay. Big-Belly Seahorse – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Big-Belly Seahorse:

The Big-Belly or Pot-Bellied Seahorse is one of the largest of the seahorses in the world. It can grow up to about 13.5 inches long (35 cm) compared to the smallest - the Dwarf Seahorse - that is only about 2 inches long. They're native to the coastal waters of Australia and New Zealand. Because of their size, these fish are often used in traditional Chinese medicine, for a host of human ailments, although there is precious little evidence they actually help as they're supposed to, and removal of them from their environments just does damage and harms the species. Unlike other seahorses, Hippocampus abdominalis is a fairly strong swimmer. The pot-bellied seahorse diet consists mainly of crustaceans such as shrimp. They will also eat different kind of small fishes, so long as they fit through the narrow snout of the animal. They are also popular aquarium fish. Information about the Blue-Ringed Octopus:

Blue-Ringed Octopuses are three identified species of small octopus that live in tide pools and shallow areas in the Pacific Ocean. They are found from Japan down to Australia. They are very small - only perhaps the size of a golf ball. Blue-Ringed Octopus generally feed on small crustaceans like shrimp and crabs.
