Egyptian Tortoise – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Egyptian Tortoise:
The Egyptian Tortoise - also called Kleinmann's Tortoise - is a critically endangered reptile native to the arid and semi-arid regions of North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. They are the smallest tortoise in the Northern Hemisphere. These tortoises are prefer areas with compact sand and gravel plains, scattered rocks, shallow, sandy wadis, dry woodlands, shrubby areas, and coastal salt marsh habitats. They are least active when the weather is very cold or very hot. During the colder months, they are out most during midday. During the warm season, they are active in the mornings and evenings. The rest of the day is spent under bushes or in rodent burrows. They are popular as pets and often kept in captivity. Unfortunately, this results in illegal poaching. This, plus loss of habitat, has driven the species to the brink of extinction in the wild. They are already no longer found in Egypt. Several programs are seeking to have them reintroduced into areas where they've been extirpated. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Egyptian Vulture – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Egyptian Vulture:
The Egyptian Vulture - also called the White Scavenger Vulture or Pharaoh's Chicken - is a small Old World Vulture. It's the only member of the genus Neophron. It has a very large distribution from Southwestern Europe to Northern Africa and into India. Like other vultures, they are highly opportunistic feeders generally eating carrion along with other species of vultures. It will, however also hunt small mammals, reptiles and other birds. When eating bird eggs, it will employ tools to break the shell, such as small stones. This use of tools is very rare in the world of birds. The population of the species has declined considerably due to overhunting, accidental poisoning and collisions with power lines and is now considered endangered by the IUCN.
