The Great-Crested Flycatcher is a large bird of the family Tyrannidae, reaching about 7–8 inches in length (17–21 cm) with a wingspan of around 13 inches (34 cm.) They usually weigh about 0.95–1.41 ounces (27–40 g.) As their name makes clear, this bird feed primarily on flying insects, which is it extremely adept at catching mid-flight. It will also feed on fruit and berries. They are the most widespread member of the genus Myiarchus. They live in forested areas, usually sticking to the treetops and are rarely seen on the ground. Their range is much of the Mid-West and eastern parts of North America. When nesting, this bird will often try and add a snakeskin to the nest. When this cannot be found, it will sometimes substitute a plastic wrapper. Great-Crested newt - also called the Northern Crested or Warty Newt - is native to marshy, damp areas near ponds and slow moving streams from Great Britain and Brittany in the west across much of Europe north of the Alps and the Black Sea. There are three recognized sub-species. While they are not considered endangered, their numbers have dropped in recent decades due to pollution and habitat loss. Because of this decline the newt in now protected throughout much of it's range and it is illegal to capture or harm them or disturb the habitat in which it lives. The Greater Kudu is a woodland antelope native to the woodlands and bushlands throughout much of eastern and southern Africa. It is one of two species of common Kudu, the other being the Lesser Kudu. It is one of the largest species of antelope; with males weighing 420–600 pounds (190–270 kg), with a maximum of 694 pounds (315 kg) standing up to 63 inches (160 cm) tall at the shoulder. They are predated on by lions, leopards, hyenas, and hunting dogs. Like many other of the large animals in Africa, the Greater Kudu is threatened by overhunting and habitat loss. The horns of greater kudus are commonly used to make Shofars, a Jewish ritual horn blown at Rosh Hashanah. Greater Rhea – Signed Fine Art Print

The Greater Rhea is a threatened member of the order Struthioniformes. It is native to the grasslands, savannahs and grassy open wetlands of eastern South America. It is a large flightless bird, weighing about 50-55 pounds (23-25 kg.) It the largest bird native to South America. It has in recent years established a population in Germany after being introduced there some years ago. The Greater Rhea is omnivorous, feeding on seeds and fruits when available, but will also eat larger insects and invertebrates such as scorpions. It will also eat small lizards and rodents, even other birds on occasion. They are near the top of the food chain and have few predators that feed on them. Cougars, Jaguars will attack adults, and smaller animals will feed on the eggs if the nest is not protected. Due to overhunting the species has declined in some of it's native areas in recent decades. Roadrunners are two species of flightless birds that can be found in the arid open areas of North and Central America. They are members of the cuckoo family. Roadrunners generally range from about 18 to 24 inches long from the tip of the tail to the beak. As the name indicated they are fast runners and can top out at about 15 MPH. While they cannot sustain prolonged flight they will use their wings to become airborne to escape predators. They are opportunistic feeders and will eat whatever lizards and insects they are able to catch along with other birds, eggs as well as fruits and seeds. They will even attack and kill rattlesnakes given the chance. Roadrunners are monogamous and will mate for life. The roadrunner is the state bird of New Mexico.
