Willet – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Willet:
The Willet is a large shorebird in the sandpiper family. It is the largest of the shanks (which are a genus of wading birds). Adults have gray legs and a long, straight, dark and stout bill. The body is dark gray above and light underneath. This bird winters on the Atlantic coast of South America. The Western Willet breeds in freshwater prairie marshes in western North America. It winters on both coasts, from the mid-Atlantic states south to at least Brazil on the Atlantic, and from Oregon south to Peru and Chile on the Pacific. Willets nest on the ground, usually in well-hidden locations in short grass, often in colonies. These birds forage on mudflats or in shallow water, probing or picking up food by sight. They mainly eat insects, crustaceans and marine worms, but also eat some plant material. The Willet's population declined sharply due to hunting in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Their population has since increased, but they are still considered at risk, especially in light of continued habitat loss. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

The Willow Ptarmigan - also called the the Willow Grouse or the Red Grouse in the UK - is a member of the family Phasianidae, which are a group of birds that includes pheasants and partridges. It is a somewhat inactive or sedentary species, spending much time in the undergrowth or perched in low bushes or scrubby trees. Both males and females molt their feathers in winter and become entirely white, to match the winter landscape. Wolf Eel – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Wolf Eel:
The Wolf Eel is a member of the family Anarhichadidae together with the wolffishes of the genus Anarhichas. These fish can grow to be 80 inches long (203 centimeters) and weigh 40 pounds (18.6 kilograms) They're native to rocky reef-type habitats from the intertidal zone down to about 740 feet. They can be found in the Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Japan and the Aleutian Islands to nearly the entire coast of California. While they look fearsome, they're generally not dangerous and won't bite humans unless provoked. The Wolf Eel feeds on crustaceans, mollusks and sea urchins, which they're able to eat with help of their conical teeth in the front and strong pulverizing molars in back. The fish is sometime fished commercially and considered good eating to some. Wolverine – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Wolverine:
The Wolverine is the largest land-dwelling member of the Mustelidae or weasel family. It is the only species classified in the genus Gulo (which means "Glutton"). It is a powerful, stocky predator that will fiercely defend it's kill against larger animals such as bears or wolves. It is native to the remote boreal forests and alpine tundra of the northern hemisphere. Because the animal requires a large range they have a very low population density. Due to habitat loss, trapping and hunting the wolverine's numbers have been in steady decline for decades. Although, recently a lone wolverine was spotted in the US state of California where one hadn't been officially recorded in 90 years. The wolverine is the official state animal of Michigan. Wood Frog – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Wood Frog:
The Wood Frog is a considered a New World "true frog." It has a large distribution over northern parts of the US and Canada. They are smaller frogs, generally only about 3 inches long (50 mm.) The females are larger then the males. Wood frogs are highly distinctive and there is no other species that resembles them in their brownish-tan coloration. Wood frogs feed on whatever small invertebrates they find on the forest floor or among the leaf litter. It is one of only two species of native frog in Alaska and one of only three species of frogs that inhabit the areas north of the Arctic Circle. During the winter months the wood frog actually freezes solid like a piece of ice, thawing in the spring as the temperatures warm.
