Caribou – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Caribou:

The Caribou or Reindeer is a deer species native to the arctic and sub-arctic regions. They can be found in the tundra and taiga environments. While their population are steady, there are a few sub-species that have gone extinct. Originally, the reindeer was found in Scandinavia, eastern Europe, Russia, Mongolia, and northern China north of the 50th latitude. In North America, it was found in Canada and Alaska, and the lower northern United States from Washington to Maine. Up until the 19th century, this deer was found in North America as far south as Idaho. Unlike some deer species, both sexes grow antlers. Reindeer are ruminants, having a four-chambered stomach. They mainly eat lichens in winter, especially reindeer moss. However, they also eat the leaves of willows and birches, as well as sedges and grasses. Black-Footed Ferret – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Black-Footed Ferret:

The Black-Footed Ferret - also called the American Polecat or Prairie Dog Hunter - is a species of Mustelid native to the prairies of central North America. This ferret is notable as is it highly endangered and has come close to extinction, even once being declared extinct in 1979, and were not found again in the wild until 1987. But thanks to intense conservation and captive breeding programs this mammal had rebounded to about 1,000 mature animals born in the wild. The Black-Footed Ferret feed almost exclusively on prairie dogs, which make up over 90% of the animal's diet. A steep decline in the prairie dog's population is a large part of what resulted in the decline of this Mustelid. Black-Tailed Prairie Dog – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog:

The Blacktailed Prairie dog is a member of the family Sciuridae. These small mammals are native to the Great Plains of North America stretching from southern Canada down into northern Mexico. An adult usually weighs about 1.5 to 3 pounds (0.68 to 1.4 kg) with a body length of roughly 14 to 17 inches (36 to 43 centimeters), with a 3 to 4 inch tail (7.6 to 10 centimeters.) Males tend to be larger and heavier than the females. They are very social animals, living in multi-family burrows with a hierarchy and relatively complex social order. Some of these colonies are massive, with one as large as 4,000,000 individuals covering 25,000 square miles described in Texas. At one time, the species was considered endangered due to environmental pressures and disease, but thanks to conservation effort these rodents have rebounded and are no longer considered at risk. he Black-Tailed Deer is native to North America's coastal forests in the western part of the continent. They can range as far east as Wyoming. They are subspecies of the more common Mule Deer. There is some debate over whether it is its own species, but is usually treated as a subspecies. Information about the Arctic Wolf:

Also called the Polar, Tundra or White Wolf, Arctic Wolves are large predatory mammals from the Canidae family. They are a subspecies of the Gray or Timber Wolf. These wolves inhabit the Canadian and Alaskan arctic as well as part of Greenland. They are somewhat smaller than the Gray Wolf although they are still large growing to over 150 pounds and up to 5-6 feet long (including tail.) Like all wolves the Arctic Wolf mostly hunts in packs preying on caribou and musk oxen. But they will also take smaller prey such as hare, seals, birds and lemmings. Bactrian Camel – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Bactrian Camel:

The Bactrian Camel is a large, even-toed ungulate native to the cold, barren steppes of Central Asia. While the species has been widely domesticated and there are thought to be over 1,000,000 on the planet, there are only small, isolated populations in remote areas of the Gobi Desert that are wild. The IUCN has the Bactrian Camel on their Red List, and it is considered critically endangered. This camel is liklely the ancestor of all domestic two-humped camels. It is well adapted to the harsh conditions of the Gobi Desert, which is one of the driest, coldest places on earth. These camels can survive through droughts and when food is extremely scarce. Camels are the only land animals that can drink salt or brackish water with no ill effects. Arabian Oryx – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Arabian Oryx:

The Arabian Oryx - also called the White Oryx - is a medium-sized antelope native to the gravel and hard sand deserts of the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula. It is the smallest of the Oryx genus. It has been, however, extirpated from most of it's historical range and now lives only in small pockets, usually in protected areas. The Arabian Oryx is a social animal, usually living in small groups. They tend to graze on a variety of grasses, but will also eat the buds on trees, fruits, tubers, roots and herbs. While the animal is considered endangered by some conservation groups, aggressive programs have been instituted to preserve the species and save it from extinction. It has even been reintroduced into certain areas of Oman, Saudi Arabia, Israel, United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. It is the national animal of Jordan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. American Bison – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the American Bison:

The American Bison - more commonly referred to as the Buffalo (which is actually not closely related to) - is a large North American land mammal. The American Bison once roamed the grasslands of central North America in massive herds, numbering in the tens of thousands. Overhunting and development of their native lands in the 19th century pushed the bison to near extinction with the population dwindling to few a few hundred individuals. Towards the end of the 1800s there was a push for their preservation and aggressive breeding and reintroduction projects were started. Even after over a century there are thought to only be roughly 20,000 bison in the wild today. They are a protected species on federal lands, but in some areas they are raised for their meat. Saddleback Pig – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Saddleback Pig:

A pig is a mammal belonging to the order of Artiodactyla. It is descended from the wild boar, and has been domesticated since ancient times. It is believed that there are about 2 billion pigs on earth. Pigs are omnivorous, and will eat virtually anything that it considers edible. They find their food in part by use of their snout, which is a very sensitive organ and can find food by digging around in the soil. Pigs are ungulates, which means they are hoofed mammals. Pigs have been introduced into areas where they are not native to, and are considered invasive pests, and can wipe out indigenous species of both plant and animal. Pigs are very intelligent animals. Europeans often use pigs and their sensitive snouts to find truffles.
