Information about the Little Blue Heron:

The Little Blue Heron is a wading shore bird in the family Ardeidae. It's range is from the Gulf States in the US, south through Central America and into Peru and Uruguay in South America. Like other herons, it breed in colonies in large trees or thick bushes. It is a very adept hunter, feeding on fish, amphibians, crustaceans and large insects. It is often found in the presence of Snowy Egrets, and examination shows that the bird benefit from this, catching more fish and being better protected from predators. Bobolink – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Bobolink:

The Bobolink is a small New World blackbird and the only member of genus Dolichonyx. Adults are 6-8 inches long (16–18 centimeters) They have short bills that are like finches. Bobolinks migrate from central North America to Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. They often do so in large flocks, feeding on cultivated grains and rice, which leads to them being considered a pest by farmers in some areas. In autumn Bobolinks gather in large numbers in South American rice fields, where they feed on grain. This has earned them the name "ricebird" in these areas. However, they are called something entirely different in Jamaica (Butterbirds) where they are collected as food, being that they are very fat as they pass through on migration. Bobolinks forage on or near the ground, and mainly eat seeds and insects. Males sing bright, bubbly songs in flight; these songs gave this species its common name. The collective name for a group of Bobolinks is a chain.
