Information about the Arabian Red Fox:
The Arabian Red Fox is a subspecies of Red Fox native to Arabia, specifically Dhofar and Al Hajar Mountains in Oman and they are also found in UAE, Syria, Jordan and Israel to Saudi Arabia and Yemen. They are very similar to the common Red Fox, but with larger ears in order to help cope with the extreme heat of the desert. They are also colored more a sandy brown rather than the typical reddish color. They are mostly solitary animals, usually only coming together to mate. They are opportunistic feeders, preying on rodents, birds, insects, various desert plants as well as scavenging carrion.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Arabian Red Fox was completed on 9.7.2012. I really enjoy drawing desert animals, as many of the mammals have large ears (adapted for the heat of the desert.) I’m putting together a collage of some of the species and sub-species of the world’s foxes. I had to do some research and track down some reference photos of this species, and luckily found a great image by Humoud Alshayji who kindly allowed me to use the image.
