Basset Hound – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Basset Hound:
The Basset Hound is a short, stocky member of the Hound family of dogs. They are excellent scent hounds, and were selectively breed for the express purpose of tracking rabbit and other small game. The name “Basset” is derived from a French word meaning “low.” The breed was developed in England and France where wealthy landowners would use them on hunts. They are of course noted for their loose fitting, dropping skin, and long ears – which are useful in directing scents into the basset’s highly sensitive noses. Bassets usually come in bicolor or tricolor, with brown, black and white. They are very friendly, low maintenance dogs that are good with children making them extremely popular as house pets.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)

Artist’s notes:
The Basset Hound was completed on 2.2.2012. This is the seventh dog breed I’ve completed. I knew one of the breeds I’d start with when I began drawing dogs would certainly be the Basset Hound. There is so much pathos in their faces. I had a lot of fun drawing this dog, especially the legs and face, with their characteristic wrinkles. The drawing is based on a photo by Josh Sinn.
