Brown Thrasher – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Brown Thrasher:
The Brown Thrasher is native to the eastern parts of North America. It is a member of the family Mimidae which includes mockingbirds. These birds are retiring and secretive and prefer to live in dense brush and thickets, hunting for food in the lead litter of the forest floor. It is a bird that can adapt to living near urban areas, and will visit lawns and open meadows if either of these border some tree cover. The Brown Thrasher is omnivorous, and will eat berries, nuts, seeds as well as small invertebrates like worms and snails, and occasionally it will catch and eat small reptiles. Despite the fact that the bird is not considered endangered, it has declined in its traditional range, and at this time it is unclear why this is.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Brown Thrasher was completed on 4.15.2010. Sometimes, in my rush to make drawings of as many different animals as I can, I lose sight that my intensions are to create the best illustration of whatever animal I’m working on. It seems like when I lose this perspective, I return to drawing songbirds. They always seem to center me, as they are relatively trouble-free to draw and I can’t think of one that didn’t turn out as I had hoped. The drawing is based on a photo by Eleanor Briccetti.
