Artist’s notes:
The Karner Blue Butterfly was commissioned by a private client who’s sister successfully battled leukemia. The scientific name is ‘Lycaeides melissa samuelis’ which has the cancer survivor’s name in it. This person also happens to be one of my best friends and a source of great inspiration to me and my artwork. The drawing is based on a photo by ‘An Orchard Away.’
