Northern Leopard Frog – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Northern Leopard Frog:
The Northern Leopard Frog is a species of amphibian from the true frog family native to parts of Canada and United States. It is is a medium-sized green/brown frog with distinctive dark spots ringed with paler “halos.” These frogs have a wide range of habitats. They can be found in ponds, swamps, marshes and slow moving streams throughout forest, open and urban areas. As with other similar frogs, Leopard Frogs are not picky when it comes to diet. If it looks like food and they can overpower it and get it into their mouths, then it’s food. It is the state amphibian of Minnesota and also Vermont, and they’re also under protection of the Canada Wildlife Act
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
This is a re-do from a previous drawing which was pretty weak. This is my fourth drawing of 2009 and I must say I’m pretty satisfied with it. It’s nice to transform one of the weakest drawings in my library into one of it’s strongest. I suppose it’s not surprising that the subject is a frog from my native state – two of my great passions in represented in one animal. I used to see these frogs all over Minnesota where I grew up. My guess is that they’re not nearly as common as they used to be. The leaves were designed with a kind of ‘art noveau’ feel to them, which I think complements the frog.
