The Splendid Leaf Frog lives in the humid rainforests of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. It belongs to the order Anura and family Hylidae. The The Costa Rica Amphibian Research Center is working hard to save these beautiful frogs.

Artist’s notes:
Another of the fabulous frogs that live in the rainforest. This image was based on a photo by Michael Fogden. Frogs were some of the first animals I attempted to draw, and remain a favorite subject to this day. I’m hoping one day someone will hire me to do a field guide to frogs.
