The Indochinese Tiger (Panthera tigris corbetti) is a subspecies of tiger native to the the secluded, hilly tropical jungles of Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is a highly endangered animal with a wild population estimated to be around only 350 individuals. The binomial name – Panthera tigris corbetti – is in honor of Jim Corbett, who was a British conservationist and author.
