Lark Sparrow – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Lark Sparrow:
The Lark Sparrow is a member of the family Emberizidae, and the only member of the genus Chondestes. This passerine bird breeds in southern Canada, much of the United States, and northern Mexico. It is much less common in the east, where its range is contracting. Young Lark Sparrows are duller, and the underparts are streaked. These birds forage on the ground or in low bushes. They mainly eat seeds, but insects, including grasshoppers are also eaten in the breeding season. They form flocks on migration or in winter. The breeding habitat is a variety of open habitats including grasslands and cultivation. Lark Sparrows nest on the ground, laying 3-6 eggs in a grass cup nest sheltered by a clump of grass or other vegetation.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Lark Sparrow was completed on 11.24.2013. This sparrow will part of a collage of Bay Area birds. This is the fifth species of sparrow I’ve added to the image library. The drawing is based on a photo by the talented wildlife photographer Patty Bruno, who has been kind enough to allow me to use it as the basis for the drawing.
