Bat Falcon – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Bat Falcon:
The Bat Falcon is a small falcon native to the open woodlands and forest clearings of tropical Mexico, Central and South America. The females are larger than males, being about 12 inches long (30.5cm) and males are 9 inches long (23cm) When feeding these falcons perch high on a limb or other tall structure, where they will then drop down and dive bomb potential prey. They are semi-crepuscular, feeing on animals that are active around the twilight hours. As the names implies they hunt bats but will also eat smaller birds and insects, particularly dragonflies. They are not considered endangered.
