Information about the Black-Tailed Rattlesnake:
The Black-Tailed Rattlesnake is a large (28-48 inches or 70-120 cm) venomous reptile foun, from central Texas through western Arizona, and southward to the edge of the Mexican Plateau. The name comes from the distinctive black tail. It feeds on mice, rats, rabbits, other small mammals, birds, and lizards. It kills them by injecting venom through long, hollow, retractable fangs. The venom also helps the reptile digest the prey. This snake is dangerous, and if encountered it should be left alone.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The illustration of the Black-Tailed Rattlesnake was completed on 2.14.2011. This drawing marks the fifth rattlesnake I’ve drawn. Each time, it’s a huge challenge for me, getting the scale to “fit” on the form. If they look out of place, asymmetrical, or don’t fit together properly the illustration tends to fall apart. The drawing is based on a photo by Alice Abela
