Information about the Corn Snake:

The Corn Snake or Red Rat Snake is native to south-eastern and central United States from Nebraska to Texas, and into northern Mexico. They are constrictors that subdue their small prey by coiling around it and slowly squeezing. The name “corn snake” comes from the fact that they have a maize-like pattern on their bellies that resembles corn. As they have very attractive coloration and pattern, are very docile and mediums sized (they grow to about 4 feet in length) and non-venomous they make them excellent and very popular pets.

The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Description

Fine art illustration of a Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.

Artist’s notes:

The original ink drawing of the Corn Snake was completed in 2004 and the digital tinting was added to the illustration in 2007. The drawing is based on a photo, along with some sketches of live corn snakes done at a few of the reptile shows I attended in the Bay Area. UPDATE: The Corn Snake drawing was re-done using a reference photo taken by Mike Martin.
