False Map Turtle – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the False Map Turtle:
False Map Turtles are members of the family Emydidae, which are commonly called pond or marsh turtles. Females are considerably larger than males, the adult male being 3.5 to 5 inches (about 9 to 13 cm) in carapace length, and the adult female from 6 to 10 inches (about 15 to 25 cm) in carapace length. Males have a leaner look, more like juveniles, but females have a larger, bulkier build. The turtle does quite well in captivity and is often kept as a pet.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The False Map Turtle was completed on 2.9.2014. I had wanted to draw a map turtle for some time, and had never found the exact species and pose I thought would make a strong drawing. When I was putting together a collage of freshwater North American Turtles, this seemed like a good chance to add a map turtle. The drawing is based on a photo by Kory Roberts and was used with permission.
