Black-Throated Gray Warbler – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Black-Throated Gray Warbler:
The Black-Throated Gray Warbler is a small New World songbird. It can be found in much of North America during the summer, from British Columbia in Canada down through to New Mexico in the US. It winters in northern Mexico and the southwestern US. It is about 5 inches long (13 cm.) It tends to forage in flocks with other similar species, usually preying on smaller insects and invertebrates it finds in the trees. The females generally tend to be somewhat more drab in color than the males. While other species of warbler have seen their numbers drop to do human activity and habitat loss, these warblers seem able to adapt to altered environments and are not considered threatened at this time.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Black-Throated Gray Warbler illustration was completed on 3.9.2014. I often see warblers in the trees and shrubs around where I live. They are smaller than most songbirds, and they move so fast it can very hard to identify the exact species. The fact that they all fairly similar is a problem too. But when I’m able to see them clearly, they are wonderful birds to observe. I learned about this particular species only recently, and I knew I had to add it to the image library. The drawing is based on a photo by and was used with permission.
