Artist’s notes:
The Boat-Billed Heron illustration was completed on 2.11.2015. There are some drawings I do – well a lot of them actually – where I know I will likely never use the drawing for any commercial purpose, nor will anyone buy a print, decal or t-shirt of the animal. This felt true for this bird. I hadn’t ever heard of it until I started researching some of the world’s heron species. I fell in love with the bird and knew I had to draw it. It will be part of a collage I’m putting together of the world’s herons. The drawing is based on a by and was used with permission.
