Artist’s notes:
The Common Wombat was completed on 6.25.2014. I love Australian animals. The are so unlike the animals found on the other continents. The bizarre and wonderful creatures produced by millions of years of isolation on the continent are charming, handsome and a lot of fun to draw. This wombat will be joined by a few other iconic animals from “down under.” The drawing is based on a photo by Arjan Haverkamp and was used with permission.
