Double-Crested Cormorant – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Double-Crested Cormorant:
The Double-Crested Cormorant is a seabird of the order Pelecaniformes. They can be found along inland waterways, rivers, lakes and coastlines. They are widely distributed throughout North America. Like all cormorants these birds hunt for fish – usually alone but at time with others – submerging and hunting with jerky movements chasing fish, which make up the majority of the cormorants prey. These birds were once threatened by the use of DDT, but are making a comeback now that the chemical was banned.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The line art drawing of the Double-Crested Cormorant was commissioned by Stackpole Books for Laura Erickson’s ‘101 Ways to Help Birds.’ I added the digital tinting in 2007. I used to live near Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. Nearly every time I walked around it, I’d see these interesting birds, either scooting about on the water, or when the sun was out and it was warm, standing with their wings spread drying out.
