Dromedary or Arabian Camel – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Dromedary:
The Dromedary or Arabian Camel is a widely domesticated, large ungulate. In fact, this animal is so thoroughly domesticated they are not believed to exist as wild animals. They grow to about 84 inches tall, 84 – 121 inches long and weighs between 1000 – 1500 pounds. They are members of the family Camelid and are closely related to the South America llama and the alpaca. They are essential to humans living in the desert areas, providing transpiration, milk and meat. The most distinctive and recognizable feature of the camel’s anatomy is its hump, which is used to store fat (not water, as some believe)
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Dromedary was completed on 3.19.2011. I was watching a TV show that had a capering camel on it, and I considered I hadn’t draw one of these ubiquitous animals yet. So I found a good reference photo from my Flickr friend ‘Truus & Zoo.’ I generally try and do side views or 3/4 views of animals, but something about the way the position of the body made me think this would make a successful drawing.
