Hoary Marmot – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Hoary Marmot:
Hoary Marmots are members of the Sciuridae family. They’re native to the mountains of northwest North America. There is a large population of them in Alaska. Hoary marmots live near the tree line on slopes with grasses and forbs to eat and rocky areas for cover. They are the largest ground squirrel in North America. The “hoary” in their name refers to the silver-grey fur on their shoulders and upper back; the remainder of the upper parts are mainly covered in reddish brown fur.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Hoary Marmot was completed on 10.27.2010. Until I started looking into the matter, I was under the mistaken impression that marmots, woodchucks and groundhogs were all different animals. Well, turns out they aren’t. They’ll from the same genus. That’s one of the great things about drawing animals – you learn so much about what they are, rather than what you believe them to be.
